'ORGANIZED CRIME, PREVENTION AND CONTRAST ACTIVITIES: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH'
A new edition for the of seminars "Organised crime, prevention and contrast activities: an interdisciplinary approach", organised by CSEIA in cooperation with the Osservatorio Permanente Legalità. From 7 March, three meetings will be held, open to all interested persons to address specific issues, with the contribution of experts from different scientific and professional fields.
The first seminar will be on Thursday 7 March at 4.30 p.m. in the Aula della Bandiera at the University of Parma, on "Environmental crime, organised crime and environmental and health risks". After the welcome address by CSEIA Director Emanuele Castelli, the topic will be presented by Rosy Battaglia, journalist and investigative documentary filmmaker. Discussing with her will be University of Parma lecturers Marco Deriu and Matteo Truffelli.
On Monday 11 March at 5 p.m., again in the Aula della Bandiera, Francesco Niccolò Moro, lecturer in Political Science at the University of Bologna, will present on "The new geography of mafias: settlements and violence outside traditional strongholds". The seminar will be moderated by CSEIA Director Emanuele Castelli, Professor of Political Science at the University of Parma.
The cycle will continue on 23 April at 11.30 a.m., again in the Aula della Bandiera, with the seminar titled "The new European Union directive on the protection of the environment through criminal law: a turning point in the fight against organised crime?", speaker Marina Castellaneta, Professor of International Law at the University of Bari. Laura Pineschi, Professor of International Law at the University of Parma, will introduce and coordinate the meeting.
