Luigi Bonanate

Professor Emeritus in the University of Turin and Gold Medal of the meritorious of culture and art. He taught International Relations for more than 40 years, and taught courses at the School of Advanced Studies of the University of Turin, the Faculty of Strategic Sciences and the Faculty of Theology of Northern Italy. His first book was The Politics of Deterrence (Ghiappichelli, 1971); his most recent books are Anarchy or Democracy (Carocci, 2015); Painting Wars (Aragno, 2016), The Victory of Guernica (Aragno, 2017), and The American Destiny (Aragno, 1919).

 

Fabrizio Onida

Professor Emeritus after serving as full professor of International Economics at Bocconi until 2009. He previously taught International Economics at the Faculty of Political Science, State University of Milan, and Political Economy at the Faculty of Law, University of Modena. He has worked for many national and international public institutions, such as OECD Development Centre, Institut für Weltwirschaft Kiel, Korea Institute of Economic Policies, Hanoi Foreign Trade University, EU Commission, UNCTAD, ISTAT, ENEA, Bank of Italy, Italian Ministries and Regions.

 

Ben Smulders

Director in the European Commission Legal Service, heading its Trade Policy & WTO team. Prior to this, he worked in the Legal Service as a Director, heading the Institutions & EMU team and served before as member of its Internal market, State aid control & Anti-dumping- and Competition teams. He served from 2014 until 2019 as Head of Cabinet to the European Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans. From 2004-2008, he was Head of Cabinet of the Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes.

 

Francesco Visioli

Professor of Human nutrition at the University of Padua. After being Full Professor of physiopathology at the Université Paris 6 “Pierre et Marie Curie”, where he directed the “Micronutrients and cardiovascular disease” unit, and being Senior Investigator at the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies (IMDEA)-Food. Dr Visioli has a publication record of over 400 papers and book chapters, which have been cited over 18,000 times (H-index: 73 according to Scopus). He gave invited lectures in over 140 meetings.


Chiara Zilioli

Director General of the Legal Service of the European Central Bank, she is a lecturer at the Institute for Law and Finance of the University of Frankfurt, at the European College of Parma, at the University of Bologna (in the Master of European Banking Law) and at the School of Law of the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS). Chiara Zilioli has contributed since the beginning of her career to the project of European integration, particularly to monetary union. A law graduate of the University of Parma, she has been Director General of the Legal Service of the European Central Bank for the past 10 years, which includes about 160 lawyers.
