The Department of Law, Politics and International Studies and the Centre for Studies in European and International Affairs (CSEIA), in collaboration with Albany Law School (Albany, New York), are organizing the Summer School "Contemporary Security and Sustainability Challenges in the International and EU Legal Framework: A Focus on Climate Change and Food".
The Summer School will take place from 25 May to 23 June 2026. All activities will be held in Parma.
The initiative provides an interdisciplinary analysis of major contemporary challenges related to security and sustainability, with particular attention to the international and EU legal dimensions of climate change and food systems. Lectures, delivered in English, are given by professors and experts from diverse academic and institutional backgrounds at both national and international level.
Building on the topics covered in class, participants take part in workshop activities dedicated to simulating international negotiations, as well as an institutional visit to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and a visit to the Davines Group.
The Summer School is organized within the FOSTER (Food Security Team of Early-career Researchers) project, coordinated by CSEIA, and is part of the activities of the project Food for Future – Department of Excellence (2023–2027) of the University of Parma.
