Cultural diversity and protection of cultural heritage

The project mainly focuses on the study of legal instruments for the protection of diversity and cultural heritage in the face of current threats. Particular attention is also paid to considerations of a political, sociological and economic nature.

DISSEMINATION EVENTS AND RESEARCH PRODUCTS

- On 7 March 2019 the screening and discussion of the film "The Destruction of Memory" by American director Tim Slade took place at the University of Parma. In the documentary, ispired by the book by Robert Bevan "The Destruction of Memory: Architecture of War" (Reaktion Books, London, 2016), the theme of the deliberate destruction of cultural heritage and the dispersion of objects of historical and cultural value with the intent to erase the history and identity of populations is addressed. The screening, organized by CSEIA, was followed by a short debate, which was attended by director Tim Slade, Elisabetta Fadda, art historian (Department of Humanities, Social and Cultural Enterprises of the University of Parma), and Laura Pineschi, Director of CSEIA and full professor of International Law (Department of Law, Political and International Studies).

- On 12 February 2019 an event on the topic "Art, politics and war" was held at the University of Parma. Luigi Bonanate, Professor Emeritus of International Relations at the University of Turin, gave a speech on the subject.
